112 fun-filled acres with more than 50 world-class rides, shows and attractions. New in 2010 – Intimidator™, the tallest, fastest, longest coaster in the Southeast and is the park’s 13th roller coaster. Included in admission is Boomerang Bay™, a 20-acre Australian-themed Outback oasis of wet fun. Park open daily during summer; weekends spring and fall.
Fun is guaranteed for the youngest members of the family in Nickelodeon™ Central, based on the shows and characters of Nickelodeon®, the number one children’s entertainment brand in the world. Nickelodeon Central is loaded with more than 20 attractions that kids and their parents can enjoy together. In addition, kids can rub elbows with their favorite Nicktoons™ celebrities throughout the day as a cast of more than a dozen stars roams the park smiling for the cameras, giving out hugs and bringing smiles to the faces of all of their biggest fans. The Nickelodeon adventure continues in other parts of the park, including the Action Theatre that features the world’s only ocean-motion movie ride, SpongeBob SquarePants™ in Deep Sea 3-D™, and on the Nickelodeon Flying Super Saturator™, the first attraction in the world to combine a roller coaster with a water play experience.
Families can get a taste of “down under” down South at Boomerang Bay™ waterpark, a 20-acre, Australian-themed, Outback oasis of wet fun that features more than 25 water activities! Boomerang Bay is open mid-May through Labor Day on regular park operating days and is free with park admission.
If it’s an adrenaline rush you’re after, then check out one of the park’s 12 roller coasters, including Afterburn, Nighthawk and Thunder Road, or one of many other heart-pounding thrill rides like Drop Tower and Scream Weaver.
The park’s 13,000 seat Paladium Amphitheatre is home to a number of great concerts throughout the year, including three Christian Music festivals.
And in October, Carowinds transforms itself into something a little more sinister as the park becomes Scarowinds’ Halloween Haunt, providing pulse-pounding haunted attractions and hair-raising rides in the dark every weekend throughout the month.
