The 1,100 seat McGirt Auditorium at the Emmett Scott Recreation Center is host to theatrical plays, gospel singings, pageants, and other productions. Formerly part of the Emmett Scott High School for African-American students, the auditorium is named for the school’s principal, Ralph W. McGirt and was renovated over 20 years ago.
